Fogged or Broken Insulated Glass ?

Do you have broken or fogged insulated glass?  You do not need to look any further as Modern Glass specializes in insulated window glass replacement on Windows in doors. There will be no construction mess; no paint; no varnish; and no need to replace sashes and frames, just the glass.

Insulated window glass consists of two or more panes of glass separated by a piece called a spacer. The spacer creates a cavity of air between the two panes of glass. An adhesive is applied to the spacer creating an airtight, watertight seal that traps the air or gas within the cavity between the two panes. This trapped still air reduces the conductive heat transfer between the interior of your house and the outside environment. The entire assembly – glass and spacer - is often referred to as an insulated glass unit.

Tempered Glass

For uses that require added strength, Tempered Glass is installed. Tempered Glass is created by a heat treatment that is unique as well as a quenching process both done to increase the strength up to 4 to 5 times that of annealed glass.  When subjected to stresses outside its capacity, Tempered Glass merely disintegrates into numerous small pieces, significantly decreasing the danger of serious injury. Tempered glass is for use where glass is most susceptible to human contact such as doors, windows located close near floor, on landings of the stairway and enclosures for shower or tub. Your safety and the safety of your family, guests, and visitors is the responsibility we take very seriously.

Low E Glass

A cool, metal oxide coating is applied to clear or tinted glass, so that the appearance and performance are the same regardless of glass thickness. Low-e glass brings out the best that technology has to offer for improving your views and comfort! Low-E glass typically costs about 15% more than ordinary glass, but it reduces energy use by as much as 30 50%, by using most of the heat gain in winter but keep the harmful UV rays out during the summer, and when used in insulated glass units - can have even better benefits. For hot climates, low-E coating should be applied to the outside pane of glass. If the windows are designed to provide heat energy in the winter and keep heat inside the house typical of cold climates, the Low-E coating will maximize benefit by being on the inside pane of glass. Low-e glass is recommended by many energy efficiency experts as a result of high performance combined with aesthetics. Most newer windows come with Low E Glass. At Modern Glass, we make sure the replacement glass matches your existing whether it's Low E or standard clear glass.
